Four steps, one truth.
Water carries gold until it slows. Everything in the game follows from that.
The four steps
- 1Dig
Steer the ring. Cold blue means nothing nearby. Hot orange means rich gravel. Dig there.
- 2Swirl
Hold the pan under the water and swirl until the gravel settles. Gold sinks first.
- 3Wash
Tilt gently and wash the light gravel over the lip. Stop when the black sand shows.
- 4Pick
Tap each flake. Some pans hold a nugget.
Read the water before you dig.
- Riffles
The downstream side of stones, where the current breaks.
- Pools
Where the current dies and the gravel is deepest.
- Bays
Backwaters closed by a rock point.
- The pay streak
One hidden in every stream. The richest gravel you will find.
Read the ring.
The ring is a detector. It glows cold blue over empty gravel, turns green, then gold, then hot orange as the gold beneath it gets richer, and it beeps faster as it warms. Violet means something solid that isn't gold: dig there too.
